Jordan LeBel is a full professor at the department of marketing of the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. He has been a pioneer of online education with his award-winning online course Marketing Yourself, taken by over 20,000 students. He has headed the John Molson School’s Executive MBA program as well as the Luc Beauregard Centre of Excellence in Communication Research. He now focuses on communication strategies and governance issues.
Graduate from the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec, he started his career in foodservice ultimately becoming Executive Chef and restaurant inspector for Distinguished Restaurants of North America. Jordan has taught foodservice management in Norway, in Switzerland and in the United States notably at the famed School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
His teaching and research focus on the management and marketing of services, the design and marketing of experiences, retailing, and consumer education strategies. He has won numerous awards for his teaching and leadership in higher education including the prestigious 3M National Teaching Award, given to the best university professors in Canada.
Jordan is quite involved in the Quebec agri-food sector; he is a member of the standing scientific committee on obesity prevention at the National institute of public health. His unique expertise and wide perspective make him a sought-after commentator in the media; he has served as regular columnist on television and radio (Salut Bonjour! on TVA, Homerun on CBC radio) and in print publications (Commerce and Le Must).
