Enneagram

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is a model of human structure that presents nine different personality configurations, called enneatypes. Studying the Enneagram helps us understand the biases and blind spots of each enneatype and their impact on our ways of dealing with life.

This rich and dynamic tool for self-knowledge has roots in ancient civilizations (as far back as Babylon!). Its contemporary approach was shaped primarily by Chilean psychologist and philosopher Oscar Ichazo in the 1950s and more widely disseminated by psychiatrist and author Claudio Naranjo in the 1970s.

Why use the Enneagram in our interventions?

Whether it's the four NOVA or DiSC profile colors, the 16 MBTI personalities, Atman, the OCEAN Big Five, or another test, your organization probably already uses a personality typology.

At CANU, we recommend exploring the Enneagram because it is a valuable tool for discovering the deep motivations, fundamental fears, and defense mechanisms that underlie our ways of thinking and acting.

The Enneagram also allows us to better understand our human relationships in light of individual personalities, which is very useful for seeing the reaction of colleagues from a new angle, defusing a difficult situation or influencing the dynamics of a management team!

More than just a categorization test,
the Enneagram shows us a way to achieve
greater self-realization.
